The 12th Annual Conference on Somali Studies (ACSOS2025) concluded on 11 December 2025 in Mogadishu. Organised by the Institute for Somali Studies and hosted by Mogadishu University, the conference explored the theme (Re)shaping Somali Society: Pathways Through Politics, Education, and Social Media.
The three-day programme included sessions on state-building and education, the digital sphere and youth engagement, a panel on social media as a double-edged sword, and student research posters.
