Abstract

From 1960-1991, Somalia’s foreign relations evolved through dynamic shifts, reflecting changes in alliances and strategic positioning. After the government’s collapse in 1991, Somalia faced setbacks with no stable diplomatic framework. The formation of the Federal Government in 2012 marked a turning point in rebuilding its connections and restoring diplomatic ties. Although internal and external challenges often hinder progress, effectively leveraging Somalia’s strategic location and diaspora networks can help create strong partnerships and support more resilient diplomatic ties.
